From Allergies to Migraines, but A Nice Quiet Homeschool Week

It seems like now I get a migraine right around the first of the month. So, know I am almost certain it is hormonal, and since I have no intentions of taking hormones, I will just have to deal with it. This month's was not as intense as the previous two months. Or, maybe because my allergies were making me feel so awful I just didn't notice, lol. I do feel better today, but still not great. We are supposed to do Run Club tomorrow, but I am not optimistic, since I am still wheezing just sitting still.

It has been a nice, quiet, homeschool week so far. I am very pleased with how much we got done. DJ has Biofuels tomorrow, so there won't be a whole lot of book work. I think I will have him fill my garden tires with dirt for me in the morning. Caitlin does have to do her Math paper tomorrow, and Easy Peasy day 105 or 106, can't remember, have it written down. The Abeka Math grade four, is proving challenging for her, but she is catching on nicely. I am actually very pleased. I plan on finishing the book through this year, and next. Abeka is a grade to a grade and a half ahead, so she won't be behind and I can better evaluate how I like it, and she likes it. I am still thinking of Life of Fred as well for her. She got a request for another letter, and she still has to do her I wonder assignment. DJ did his today.

The Return Of The Dreaded Migraines!

I have not had a migraine since November of 2009. I was having them every other week, so even this is a great improvement. This morning I woke with a headache, that quickly became a migraine. While I hate to use the Relpax unless I have to, it makes me drowsy, I really did not have a choice. The waves of nausea, light, and sound sensitivity were unbearable. Relpax works very quickly, but now I am left extremely tired. Needless to say we did not have any school today. All lessons will be made up in the coming days. I forgot to add two things to todays lessons. The rotting log experiment, week two, and DJ, and Caitlin will be both drawing an animal habitat. Tomorrow we will be reviewing latitude, and longitude. I took a worksheet from a workbook that I bought for next year. It explains it very easily, and the graphics are great. The video below helps as well, so be sure to use it as you need.

Off To The Doctor I Go

I am a bit of a stubborn person, at times. Going without health insurance, for many years, has not helped. I have suffered from migraines since the birth of my second child. I was examined right before moving to Florida, and due to how they occurred, it was determined it was probably hormone related. But now my symptoms are changing, and I am starting to have some neurological involvement. A visit to the eye doctor revealed nothing substantial, and they eye glasses have not helped a bit. I do believe I have chronic dry eye, but that does not account for other symptoms. We have health care now, and have for a couple of years, so I guess it is time I get examined. I have many fears since my mom has fibromyalgia, which personally I have always felt was a misdiagnosis, and she probably has MS. At any rate, I have done great research, and feel I may have MS, of course I certainly hope I am wrong. At any rate, my children are far too young, for me to not get answers, and treatment. I am fussy about treatments though, so this could be difficult. I only hope the Dr is willing to be flexible, and not just expect me to stuff myself full of medications, with no real answers. I go Monday, so wish me luck! I am hoping for just simple migraines, that have worsened, and not something serious.
