Chinese New Year

Today is Social Studies, and we are diverting from Brazil to travel to China for Chinese New Year. Tomorrow is Chinese New Year, and this year is the year of the rabbit. Caitlin was very excited about that. Her rabbit is honored LOL! Chinese New Year is for new beginnings. They clean their whole houses, buy fancy new outfits, and everything gets painted red. Red and Dragons are symbols of good luck in the Chinese culture. Both DJ and Caitlin have reading comprehension stories and questions, about Chinese New Year. DJ remembered quite a bit from last year which of course made me happy. There are also some puzzles, and word finds just for fun. If any of my readers, that celebrate Chinese New Years, would like to share with my readers I would be most appreciative. By the way I got my Chinese New Years worksheets and lessons from Edhelper. For only 20 dollars a year you get access to hundreds of lessons and printables. So far I am very pleased with my 20 dollars spent. For some great books on Chinese New Year, and Chinese culture please visit Melissas Barefoot Blog.
