The End Of Summer Nears

The days are getting shorter. The evenings just a little bit cooler. The end of summer is near. We dont officially start back homeschooling, until the day after Labor Day. We go a few weeks later, than our public schools do. I am actually looking forward, to getting back into a school routine. My kids are already sleeping later, in anticipation of getting up at a set time. We have already planned one field trip, to the Ocean. We will be going the same week, that we do the Ocean Life theme for science. I found a ton of Virtual Tours, and they are great for homeschool field trips. I will be sharing them here, on this blog, so keep watch. 3rd grade, is really just a repeat of 2nd grade, with some new material added in. Division, will be the biggest addition this year, to our curriculum. We touched on it, at the end of 2nd grade, but will dive right in for 3rd grade. This one has me a little nervous. I know how to do division, and math was one of my favorite subjects, but teaching it is completely different. We had a great summer. Swimming every day, trip to chuck e cheese, fireworks, birthdays, but now I am ready to get back to school. When do you start back to school?

Yeah, it's almost fall already and i can't wait for that. I love the changing of color of the leaves!!

My step child went back to school last week by the way! :)

We used to live in upstate NY. I do miss the leaves changing and all the beauty that goes with it. The crisp air, fresh smells, I miss it much. Thanks for stopping by.

Yuchhhhh! We live in an area that largely shuts down in the winter - very touristy in the summer and lots of fun. I'm not ready to hibernate yet!!
(Thanks for visiting my blog :))

I used to hibernate too, when we lived up north. Now the winter is the best part of the year here in Florida.

the thought that summer will soon be over makes me a little bit sad :( because it is my favorite season, boogie boarding without wearing a wet suit, combining hiking and ocean. but if there is no fall and winter, there would be no spring, my second favorite season when the hills explodes with colors from wildflowers. but i look forward to fall and winter also. but the worst thing about summer ending is going back to school :) coz it means going back to work, if only everyday is vacation. though i love my job but i love vacation more :) i go back to school on the 25th, to teach. Thanks for visiting my blog and for your comment.

Hello betchai, thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful school year. Boogie boarding sounds, fun. I have never tried, but have watched people do it.
