Happy Nurse's Week to all my nurse friends, readers, and nurses everywhere. I didn't forget it this year, lol!
I thought this week was going to be a normal week, well sort of it has. My mom contacted me on Sunday, because both of her cars are undriveable, and she will not be able to paint on Wed. I am going over there tomorrow to take her to the bank and get groceries, then maybe we will paint at her house. I am going to try to help her fix the one car, it sounds simple enough, wish me luck! The other car is in need of major repair. Since Sunday is Mother's Day and I was not sure what to give her anyways, money will do nicely at this time for my mom. It is hard to live on a fixed budget, as she does, and then thinks happen. This is why we moved to Florida, so we can assist her when needed.
Today is my baby sister's birthday. She is 33. Happy Birthday Flea! Since we are at the end of the school year, most school days are shorter. DJ seems to be goofing off though, and taking way too much time to finish the little bit he has to do.

Swimming Fun!
Over the weekend, DJ and I also discussed his math. He has been using Saxon 54 all year. It was given to me after we could not find a math program that really suited his wants and needs. He likes it, so I will stick with Saxon. However, I did not realize what the 54 numbers actually meant. They mean the end of fourth grade and beginning to halfway through fifth grade. Not exactly what I intended, so starting yesterday we went ahead and decided to begin Saxon 65. That way he is at the end of fifth grade and beginning to middle of sixth grade by the end of next year. It is kind of confusing, but I know I used the Saxon textbooks when I went to school and didn't have any problems on Math standardized tests. I have gotten all the books through Algebra, so we are sticking with it.
Next week is the end of our regular school year. Caitlin will continue with Head of the Class through the summer months. I want her to complete first grade, and begin second grade on time in the Fall. She has actually done double curriculum for first grade by the time she finishes, because she completed the other one already. Head of the Class is going to be her main curriculum next year for Second Grade. Because we didn't find Head of the Class until January, that is why she is finishing up First Grade over the summer.

End Of School Diplomas, Commas
Today is our official last full day of school. We have no school Monday, and DJ will be just finishing up math, and vocabulary workbooks next week. That is it, and now I have to put portfolios together for our evaluations. It has been a great school year, and over the summer months I will be posting videos, and websites I have found for various topics, most I will actually be using for next year. I will start with commas. DJ has learned about commas in a series. But there are so many other reasons to put commas. Next year his grammar lessons will be more advanced than he has already learned. I will be posting great videos to help him, me, and even you learn the very complicated grammar rules.

You can click right here, to see the variety of ones available. My kids like these, and they make them feel they have accomplished something great.
