In one of the previous posts, I laid out what Caitlin would be doing for PE in grade 11. The goal is to prepare her to take the Physical Fitness test to be a cop which is her desired profession. The part for 11th grade is only the first part, and not nearly as intense as the second part will be. If she masters all the steps before the end of 11th grade we will move on to step 2. We had planned on buying a treadmill, but that has not yet happened because of our AC decided to die. So, I went on the hunt for some indoor running videos for her to start working on towards the goal of the 1.5 miles run in 15 minutes. The video below is the first one I tried. I am not sure if it is 1.5 miles I will have to track it next time I do it, but I think it is more like a mile. Eventually, we will run outside, but it is simply too hot for that right now.

A Fun, Free and Easy Way to Give to Charity: Charity Miles
I found out about Charity Miles, quite by accident. I had downloaded and app called Hip2Save, because you know I love to be hip. While browsing through the specials, deals and such I came across Charity Miles. I was curious so I downloaded it from the Amazon app store, to my Android phone, only to discover it had to be downloaded from Google Play to work properly. So, I uninstalled it, and then reinstalled it. As I was reading about what to do, I realized I could rack up miles just doing stuff around the house, like mowing, or weed whacking. So, on Sat I tried it while I mowed. Wrong answer, lol I was not logged in. So, today I had my son download it on his phone, and we all went out for a walk. You can walk, run, or ride a bike for Charity Miles. Kazaam it worked~! We both racked up over a mile, and a dollar a piece to the charity we chose for today. You can choose the same charity each time, or a different one from their list. This is actually a great motivator for us to get out and walk everyday. It is a free app in the Google Play store. If you are on your feet all day at work, and you can carry your phone on you, or you are active this is a great way to painlessly give to a charity you love. BTW you can download the app from Amazon, but it says right in the app you have to use Google Play. I am not sure how that makes sense, but hey I don't make the rules.

Wipeout!!!!!!!
Wipeout is actually one of my ring tones on my phone. DJ thinks it is funny. Today right when we started our Run Club, DJ decided to run backwards real fast. He then tripped did some loopy loo in the air and landed right on his forearm. He was in quite a bit of pain and dizzy. So our friend had her car, and gave us a ride home. I iced it and elevated, and he felt a lot better. No swelling, or bruising so no fracture. He was sure he wouldn't be able to do Math, lol! He did Math, trust me.
Lesson Pathways is now working again. So Caitlin can continue with her Language Arts, but only some of the books, then I am switching to Magic Tree House. She will continue Science on The Magic School Bus, and History will be on Lesson Pathways. The only thing DJ uses the pathways for is The Middle Ages, which he is thoroughly enjoying learning. He did some a couple years ago, but is getting into it now a lot.
Tomorrow Caitlin will be doing a Space activity, so be sure to watch for that.
