The Boys In Pink, Undefeated, and Seasons

Wow how is that for a headliner. Yesterday the NFL, or National Football League, helped increase breast cancer awareness by wearing the color pink. Yes, big, burly football players in pink. Some wore pink cleats, pink caps, pink wristbands, pink logos on their jersey or helmet. As a woman I must personally thank the NFL, their players, and coaches for making breast cancer awareness, more aware. Speaking of football, I won yesterday, maintaining my undefeated status. It is so very exciting. Thanks to all of you who wished me luck, and to Peyton Manning, the best QB ever. Without him, and his average of 100 points per week, has made me unstoppable.

Tomorrow for Science we are going over the four seasons. DJ already did a post, on his take of the seasons, know he gets the lesson plan. Below are two cute videos, that help to explain the seasons, and the earth movements.

Michael Vick Reinstated

I am a huge football fan. When Michael Vick was convicted of dog fighting, I was both disgusted, and discouraged. How could someone do something so awful, to a dog. Then he went to prison, and was recently released. He still has to serve three years probation, and keep his nose clean. I think what he did was disgusting, and outrageous, and I spoke about it on many public forums at the time. Yesterday the NFL reinstated Vick, allowing him to be picked up by a team, and possibly play again. Now this is where it gets messy. PETA is putting pressure on Vick's lawyers, Vick, and anyone else who will listen to force him to take a MRI to prove he is not a psychopath. Are you kidding me? This is absolutely outrageous. Why should he have to do that? He paid his debt to society, did his time, and now deserves to resume his life, and earn a living. Do I think he should make a point of mentoring children, and others about why dog fighting is awful, yes I think that would be a good move on his part. Do I think he should have to take a medical test, to prove he is not a psychopath, absolutely not. Then everyone should have to do this, to have gainful employment, for any infraction they have done. People make mistakes, and do bad things sometimes. They are making an example of Vick, and obviously intend to continue to make an example of him for the rest of his life. Pedophiles don't even get this kind of treatment. Vick was wrong, disgusting, and did awful things to harmless animals, BUT he did his time, move on already.

So go ahead and start yelling, stomping your feet, calling me names, maybe I need an MRI to prove I am not a psychopath, please this man does have rights. Forgive, but never forget, but why be so vengeful. What do you think? By the way I am not one of those bloggers who only post comments that agree with them. I will however delete spammers, so don't send comments about penis enhancement, please.

Lets Talk Elections, Lesson Plan For 9/10/08, And How About Some Football

It is a good start to the week. Hurricane Ike, appears to have taken a curve, and will be moving away from us. My thoughts, are with those who it will be heading towards. We love Football, in our house. The Gators won on Saturday, both my husbands team the Steelers, and my team the Bills, both won on Sunday. Plus we both won in our Fantasy Football leagues. Yipee a great start. If you have never played Fantasy Football, it really is a lot of fun.

Now for a little politics. My son sees me watching the news, and of course they are talking about the candidates alot. Since he is 8, I figured it was a great time, to start to explain the election process to him. Nothing real in depth, just the basics. So then of course, he has to ask me who am I voting for? I told him I am still undecided. I like both candidates, for very different reasons, and it will be a hard decision for me. He said Oh, and went on his way. So what about all of you. Have you decided yet, if yes for whom. If not, what is holding you back?

Brett Farvre, The NFL, and a Lesson in Pride and Respect

First off let me say, I am a huge football fan, and huge fan of Brett Farvre. He is undoubtedly, one of the greatest quarterbacks, to ever play the game. For those of you, that may not know the story, Brett Farvre, retired from the Greenbay Packers, at the end of last season. He had talked about retiring for sometime. Most experts would probably agree, that it was time for him to retire. There was alot of sadness, and respect in Greenbay for the beloved Farvre. It has been reported, in the last couple of weeks, that now Farvre wants to return. But that is not the part that stinks. He either wants to be the starter in Greenbay, or he wants them to trade him to another team. Greenbay, has moved on to Aaron Rogers, as their starter. For Farvre to make these kinds of demands is not only disrespectful to his fans, his teamates, the coaches, the NFL, his family, but most importantly to himself. He is selfishly only thinking of himself, rather than thinking of the impact of his actions. To me that is disrespectful. Pride is a sin, and for a good reason. It clouds your judgement, and makes you act in ways you might not normally act.
