Ignoring This Blog?

No, not really, lol.  I just have not had time to get on and share this week.  The kids have been using both computers for school, and I just have not had a chance.  Next week, and the week after, are crazy socializing weeks for us.  I will be sure to get on and share all the fun things we are doing.  Tomorrow is our Earth Kids meeting, and we are studying Dolphins.  I will share our art work, and I am hoping to get a wire craft piece done tonight.

If you are interested, check out my daily flash sales, for my Etsy and Ecrater stores, by visiting my other blog Melissas Jewelry and Gems.

Finances Tight This Year? Kmart Offers An Awesome Layaway Plan

Like many Americans, this year, finances are tight, and people are worried about Christmas this year. Lucky for all of us Kmart Lay-Away Kmart offers a awesome Layaway plan.

If you click the link, you can go and see if your local Kmart offers the layaway service. The closest one to me, is in Winter Springs, which is two hours away. I wish my local Gainesville, Kmart offered layaway, because I would use it for sure. Kmart is the only large retail store, that still offers a layaway service. Other stores like Walmart, have done away with it, for reasons I do not understand. If I could use the layaway service, I would put this cute Fur Real Friends Horse, on layaway for my daughter. She would absolutely love this, but I can not afford to fork over 300 dollars for it.

Layaway is simple, you pick the items you want, like the horse above. You take your items back to the Layaway desk. They ask you some basic information, you pay a small start up fee, to hold your items. You agree to make a payment at least every two weeks, and after 8 weeks, you pick your items up, take them home, wrap them, and put them under the tree. Simple, convenient, and a life saver in a touch economy. Of course you could use their Layaway service any time of the year, not just for Christmas. Right now, on their website they are offering 99 cent shipping, on toys, and free shipping on clothing. Maybe next year, I will get lucky, and the Kmart in Gainesville will offer a Layaway service. That would be awesome, especially I start shopping in August. Take advantage of this great oppurtunity, and check to see if your local Kmart offers the layaway service.

Make Bookends With Your Childs Artwork Great Homeschool Craft

I found this in a magazine, I had kept for some reason. Well this craft, is why I kept it. I keep magazines I read, and then go back through them to see what I wanted. Usually it is a recipe, or craft idea. I really should start just ripping out, and keeping the one page in the magazine I wanted lol. Anyway these would make great gifts for Grandparents, your kids friends, or even just to keep for yourself. They are simple and affordable.

1- Have your child draw or paint pictures to fit in two 5 inch by 7 inch clear plastic box frames. I know Walmart sells these, so I am sure they are available at any craft store. Then have them decorate coordinating strips to fit along the side and top edges of the frame.

2- Pull up the easel, on the back of the frame. Insert small rocks into the back of the frame, about halfway full will do fine. Fill the remainder with crumpled tissue paper, then press the easel back into place.

3- Use non toxic glue or adhesive, to fasten light cardboard across the entire back, then you can cover the cardboard with felt to help it look nicer.

4- Use a glue stick to fasten the artwork to the boxes, and inserts them into the frames. Then you have made bookends.

This will definately be one of our art projects, this school year. Enjoy
