How To Train Your Dragon 2 with Printables Plus Art

The kids and I have not sat down to watch a movie for school, in a while. So, today we sat down to watch, How To Train Your Dragon 2. I read another blog post that said this movie was a lot about diplomacy, and politics. There was only one little section where I would say that was true, and that the whole of the movie was may more than that. This was in 3D in the movies, so it wasn't as exciting on our plain old TV. Both kids had a writing assignment after they finished watching, and next week will get an Art assignment. All of us, yes me too, will design and draw a dragon. I already have ideas for mine, and I think it will be fabulous, lol. Here are some worksheets to go along with the movie. Be sure to check out the rest of that website, for some other cool items they offer.  We have Netflix, and watched the movie on there.  But, if you don't have Netflix, you can always purchase the movie too.

So What Do You Do When It Has Rained 9 Days Straight?

It has rained for the last nine days, and counting, days. Not just a afternoon shower, which is completely normal in Florida this time of year, but all day rain, with no sun to speak of. Grr it is awful. My dog has cabin fever, my kids have cabin fever, I have cabin fever, it is awful. The pool needs vacuuming, we are having a playgroup pool party Wednesday, and I can not even get in the pool to clean it. The way things are going it might rain. When I was a kid, a million years ago, we used to come home from school, and watch The Land of the Lost. Today, there is all day marathon of the original show. My husband is using Tivo to catch all the episodes. My son is watching it right now. So at least if it rains again, we will have something to do. Yesterday, we watched Hotel for Dogs. My kids, and husband thought it was great. I liked it but liked Beverly Hills Chihauha much better. My husband also rented Mall Cop which will probably get viewed tonight. Saturday, during the rain out, they watched Bedtime Stories. I listened to it, as I was working, but they loved it. I do not remember the last time we have stayed inside, and watched so much TV, and movies. I really need some sunshine. It is peeking out right now. I will keep my fingers crossed, I would even settle for a quick shower later. Below is the trailer for the new Land of the Lost movie. This is probably the summer movie we will go to see. I hope everyone has a safe, and happy Memorial Day.

Tyler Perry's The Family That Prays

Last night was movie night, for my husband, and I. I got The Family That Prays, from Netflix, completely thinking it was a comedy. This was definitely not a comedy, but a wonderful, touching story about friendship, love, and life. I can not tell you how much I enjoyed this movie. If you have not seen it, you might want to add it to your list.

This week is Spring Break, at Melissas Homeschool. Spring Break, is really not a break at all, but more in lines of spring cleaning. We will be going through my children's inventory of way too many toys, and preparing them for sale on Melissas Garage Sale. I really am going to work hard, online, to make a little extra money this next week. We have had some unexpected expenses, plus Easter, Mothers Day, and Caitlin's birthday next month. So I will be a busy little beaver, this week. Have a great Sunday, everyone.

Batman The Dark Knight, Movie Night

Last night was movie night, for my husband and I. We get to do this about once a month, and he picked the new Batman movie. First of all let me say it was rated PG13 and that rating is fitting. My 8 yr old, wanted to watch it. I knew from previews, it was darker than previous Batman movies, so I told him I would let him know after I watched it. I decided no, it had a very complicated story line, and was a little more violent than others. He was disappointed, but I think it was the correct choice. Now back to the movie. Batman Begins was, and still is my favorite movie of the series. The Dark Knight, was extremely long, one thing that is a negative for me. It could have ended at least 45 min earlier, if they just ended it with Harvey in the hospital, to be Two Face in the next movie. However they chose not to do that, and Harvey was instead saved by Batman, and Commissioner Gordon. They chose to make him the Hero, and make Batman out to be the Villian. While I really liked this ending, it was well written, and very touching, I still think it could have been a little shorter. The length is my only complaint. Heath Ledger was amazing, as the Joker, and I can see why he was nominated for an Oscar. Matter of fact, the whole cast was very good. Have you seen this movie, yet. If yes, what did you think of it? If no, what are you waiting for?
