Gilchrist County 4H County Events 2015

Saturday, was the annual Gilchrist Count 4H County Events. This is the 4th year, my kids, have participated. It was a little bit of a smaller group than last year, but still a good amount for our small county. I don't share images of other people's children, so I only got a couple. Caitlin was in the Fashion Review, showing off her clover she painted on the back of a shirt, and then embellished with blue, green and hot pink sticky gems. It really was quite pretty. I am trying to figure out how I can convince her to do a demonstration next year, bribery doesn't work with her real well. DJ, who is VP of his club, did quite a few things this year. He did a food demonstration, this year, a first, usually he sticks with Science topics. He did quite well. He also performed Keep On the Sunny Side, on the guitar, with a fellow Guitar Club member, and he sang. It was awesome! If you would like to share in my excitement, click the link below to watch him perform. He will be doing both at District Events, in May. They always enter a photograph too, the easiest category to do. Next year, DJ says he wants to enter the cake baking contest. The top winners get auctioned off at the end of the event. Then, we headed to the park for some fun with friends. By the time that was over, everyone was plenty tired. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday. I will be starting the process of starting a Horse Club, so that should be interesting.

Wow Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey

If you missed American Idol last night, you missed a good one. I think they all did excellent, but Adam, and Danny definitely stole the show. Danny finally showed some more of his abilities, especially in the performance department. Allison still appears to be uncomfortable with her own personality, but she sang awesome. How did your favorites do last night?

Britians Got Talent, American Idol, Nutrition For Kids

Last night on American Idol the judges used their save, to keep Matt in the competition. It was exciting, and that means two contestants will go home next week, which is Disco week. That should be fun. I still do not understand the popularity of Kris, but that is just my opinion.

On the news this morning, they were going on about a woman named Susan Boyle. Seems Britian has a version of American Idol called Brits Got Talent. This woman is amazing. She is 48 yrs old, with the voice of an angel. But what makes her extra special is just herself alone. She is not young, she is not hip looking, but she has a wonderful set of pipes. I could not post the video, because it is disabled, but you can copy and paste the address below, and go watch her for yourself. It really is amazing.

Today for Health class we are covering Nutrition. Below is a Disney video geared at teaching kids about nutrition. It is really cute, check it out. This is a supplement to our work book nutrition papers.

Tomorrow, is test day. Have a great Thursday, everyone.

Anoop Desai My Top Pick This Week

Wow is all I can say. My pick to win is, and always has been Adam. But Anoop stole the show this week, and in my opinion was the best. He sang Everything I Do, by Bryan Adams, and I liked it even better than the original, and I love Bryan Adams. Adam was just chaotic for me this week, though he is number two, for me this week, with Allison third. I was disappointed with Matt, it was a strange version. Danny for the first time, I think might have trouble, Lil, and Kris just do not seem to have any other talent other than the ability to sing. How did your favorites do this week.

American Idol Top Eight : My Picks

This week American Idol's theme was the year they were born. I was a little disappointed with a lot of what they sang. I really like Scott, but the judges did not. My top three picks this week were, Adam, Allison, and Matt. Danny is just Ok for me, my son loves him though. I have to give hats off to Anoop also, as he continues to improve every week. I am not sure he can win, but I like him. Adam sang a song from Tears for Fear that I had never heard before, but it was awesome. Allison did a Bonnie Rait song, that I loved. Matt did some playing around with a classic Stevie Wonder song, and I thought it was fabulous. How did your favorites fare this week?

American Idol My Top 10 Review

Tomorrow is test day, so I get to do my American Idol post today. In case you missed it last night was Motown night, with Smoky Robinson as the mentor. My top three picks for this week were:
Adam, Allison, and Matt. Adam, was all cool, and dapper looking his singing was superb too. He is my pick to win, with Allison in second. Speaking of Allison she was smoking hot this week, I loved it. Matt is my third top favorite, this week. He is shy, and somewhat reserved, but he gets better every week. His smoky, sexy voice, isn't bad either. Who did you like this week?

Tomorrow I will post the Pool safety tips, and videos, that we used for health class today. Have a great day, everyone.
