Where to Start? New Redbubble Art

I haven't blogged in so long I don't know where to start. I have been so busy with my son's homeschool graduation, new job stuff, old job stuff, and homeschooling my other child, that I just have not kept up my blogging. I have not been able to be as crafty as I like, but I have gotten some new stuff done. I started a Nurse art line, and so far 3 have been completed. Below you will see the Nurses are Wise, Owl bag. This is all my original art, and is available on a variety of items. These are great gift ideas for any nurse you know. All nurses love tote bags, lol. You can see all the wise owl items by visiting my Redbubble account. You can search my other photography and art pieces, by clicking on my Redbubble profile. You can search for Missy69 on Redbubble, also.

It is getting too hot to do any more glass etching until Fall, but I am still crocheting, and of course painting. My daughter and I are going to start doing Tie Died items. I haven't done too much new jewelry, but I am having a Memorial Day Sale, in my Etsy shop. You can check it out by clicking here. It goes until the first of June. I am loving Fairy Gardening as well. Hopefully some new items for that as well, soon. I thought I might try my hand at writing. Not sure when I will fit that in, lol.

Planning A Homeschool Graduation: Step 3

I have moved on to step 3 of planning our homeschool graduation. This morning I ordered his cap and gown, in the school colors he chose. I used this website  Our long distance invites have been sent out, and a general event page has been created on FB.  Today, or tomorrow I will work on the rest of the invites that need to be mailed.  The others will be hand delivered. If I don't complete it this week, next week I hope to have the ceremony program created.

Everything is happening so fast now.  I also applied for the FAFSA, and started gathering what he needs to apply to college.  I created his wood burned money/gift box, I will share that next week, as it needs to be stained.  I also found a huge, heavy lovely glass mug, at the dollar tree, and am going to etch something funny on it, and have it for people to put coins or one dollar bills in.  I should have that done next week, also.

If you would like me to create a wood burned keepsake box for your graduate, leave me a comment, or visit my Etsy shop to see the one created for my son, and place a custom order there.

After researching many catering websites, we have decided to buy a warmer, and do hot dogs, and a couple of salads for food.  It is just so much more frugal to do that way.

Some Thanksgiving Art, Wood Burned Gifts, and End of First Quarter of Homeschool Year

I just realized I had not posted on this blog in a few weeks, good grief. Today, was the last day of our first grading period. I will be working on report cards over the next few days, and evaluating if we are where we need to be.

Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away, and the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special is on ABC tonight, at 8 PM. That means it is time to start thinking of Christmas specials, something my children and I enjoy immensely. Even at 15, and 11, this is a tradition they still love to do. This year, we are actually having no company for Thanksgiving, a first I think. Normally, we also decorate the tree Thanksgiving night, however this year, we are starting something new. We are taking the kids to the movies on Thanksgiving eve. I might regret it, lol, but we are going to give it a whirl. I am not sure when the tree will get decorated, maybe on Black Friday, a day I refuse to ever leave the house. I will be doing some shopping this week.

Speaking of shopping, some of my readers know I have an Etsy store, where I sell jewelry, crochet items, and art. I am having a BOGO sale, buy one get one free, that goes all the way through January the 1st. Click here to visit my shop, and I offer layaway too. The first three items below are made by me, and the last two wood burned pieces are my son's. He made them for two friends who turned 16 the last couple of weeks. Him, and I both love wood burning.

Freebie Of The Day, New Store Promotion, Thanksgiving Themed Unit

I have three things to discuss this morning. Tomorrow there is no school, in celebration of Veterans Day. I will be looking for a lesson on Veterans Day, and hopefully adding it to Wednesdays lessons.

Todays Homeschool Freebie of the day, is an ebook about the Pilgrims. I have downloaded this to my computer, if you are interested in it, I can send it to you. If you want to sign up for the free newsletter go to www.HomeschoolFreebieOfTheDay.com and they will send you the freebies for free, every week. Here is a summary of the ebook Pilgrim Stories I -
From Old Homes to New (PDF ebook)

This week we are featuring this absolutely delightful
three part serialization of the story of the Pilgrims - perfect
for "read aloud" and sharing with the kids over the next
couple of weeks!
In Part One, we meet the Pilgrims and learn why they
were forced to leave their homes in search of a place they could
freely worship... a journey which had many false starts,
and eventually became a hazardous journey across
the ocean in hopes of reaching the "New World".
I probably will not use this for this year, but will be saving it for next years curriculum.

This weeks free themed unit, from www.schoolexpress.com>
is for a themed unit on Thanksgiving, we will be using this the week of Thanksgiving, when there is only two days of school. If you are interested in this themed unit, I can send it to you. If you go to school express website, you can sign up for their free newsletter, and they will send you a new free themed unit, every week.

I am having a sales promotion, for my Etsy store, at both blogs. For this blog, if you purchase 25 dollars of merchandise, before shipping, you will get a free Fisher Price learning computer, for children 9 months to 3 years. There is a picture of it above. The first person to contact me through this blog, verifying their purchase will win the free learning system. Go to my Etsy store, http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6007466 and check out my inventory. This is a great way to cross two or more people, off of your Christmas list.

I am honestly tired of talking about Politics. I will be glad when it is over. I have started a free give away book clug. If you are anything like me, you have tons of books, magazines, and other reading material just lying around your house. I have started the club, it is up and running, and it is free. You just post your book, you are offering, and wait for someone to say they want it. Simple, right? You can join using the button provided, in this post, or the button posted above. As a homeschooler, and jewelry maker, I am always looking for new and interesting books. Once you are done with the book, you can either re post it, or keep it if you really love it. Join today, and lets start reading.

As you are all aware, Halloween is right around the corner. Next week in Arts and Crafts, we are going to try making Paper Mache Pumpkins. The directions are simple, and the supply list is just as easy. If you want to try your hand at Paper Mache, go here http://www.kidsturncentral.com/holidays/crafts/hcrafta.htm

For anyone who may be interested, I am going to offer a Layaway service, for all items on my jewelry blog, and Etsy store. Christmas will be here soon. Click my widget, to go to my Etsy store. My jewelry blog is http://www.melissasjewelryandgems.blogspot.com/ Email me for details, if you are interested.
